Highlights for October

Saturday 18th October sees three major premieres for Haydn Rawstron Artists: Sergei Leiferkus in Dresden, Ira Levine in Sao Paulo and Kristinn Sigmundsson in Reykjavik.

Following his success with the role at Glyndebourne, in 2012, Sergei Leiferkus sings the Forester in a new production of The Cunning Little Vixen at The Semperoper Dresden. Tomáš Netopil conducts and the production is directed by Frank Hilbrich. Ira Levin conducts performances of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavello’s I Pagliacci at the Teatro Municipal. Sao Paulo. Kristinn Sigmundsson makes a welcome return to his native country where he sings Philip II in Verdi’s Don Carlo. This is the first time the opera will be performed in its entirety in Iceland.

Anna Virovlansky returns to the Deutsche Opera am Rhein as Violetta, Kartal Karagedik has further performances of Sharpless in Erfurt, Vera Egorova of Brangäne in Regensburg, and Jochen Kupfer sings Marcel in Meyerbeer’s Les Huguenots at the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
